I was very happy when I came across the Abs Diet. For some time now I have been trying to find a diet that will allow me to build muscle, get fit, and lose fat all at the same time. None of the diets I had looked at focused at all on anything other than weight loss. Most of them were also geared only for women. The Abs diet took into account a man's need to lose weight with also needing to build muscle at the same time. I could count on the diet, as well as the exercise regime to be what I needed to get back on track and fit. I did not have to worry about figuring out what other muscle building exercises I could do, as this program had that built right in. What Abs diet taught me was that it was not all about lower calorie intake that made me lose weight. It was about how I ate and my activity levels. This diet stressed the importance of eating 5-6 smaller meals each day that focused on higher protein and unrefined carbohydrates and building muscle. This was what I had been looking for all along. I worked with a seven-day plan that focused on twelve power foods. I really loved how they even included a cheat meal into the plan. This way I never felt like I was completely out of control of what I ate. Most of the week I avoided high, refined sugars and really fatty foods and stuck to the twelve power foods. These foods included nuts, lean meats, beans and legumes, green vegetables, low fat/fat free dairy, oatmeal, eggs, peanut butter, olive oil, whole grain pastas and breads, and whet powder for extra protein. The best part about this diet is the fitness program. The Abs diet includes cardio and weight training as a part of its program. This allows you to build muscle while losing fat. Many other diets just offer tips of cardio exercises and forget that building muscle is a very important part of getting fit. One of the first things I learned using this diet is that my muscles were hungry. They wanted to work out. The more I focused on them, the more fat I lost. Not to mention the better I looked. I did not have to give up hours a day to work out; I just had to focus on specific types of exercise. It did not take long to see results either. With in 2 weeks I could not only see the inches falling off, I could see the new muscle mass poking through. I found that my stomach was getting that great flat look finally after all this time. If you want to look great and feel great too, I completely recommend trying the Abs Diet. Not only is it easy to follow long term, it also works. This is not another one of those hyped up, fad diets that does not produce the results it claims. If you do what the book say you can see the success just as I did.
