Applying Make Up To Not Look Made Up
Can You Get A Natural Look With Make
Up?
Applying make
up sounds easy in theory, but if you do not want to look made
up, you need to know the right way to accomplish this. A
natural look can be achieved using cosmetics. The key to
success is to know what type of products to use, and how much.
With so many different types of make up products available
today it can be hard to know which ones will do the
trick.
Choosing The Right Make
Up
Choosing the
right type of make up for a more natural look is the first step
in proper application. If you do not have the right product,
your make up can look caked on or worse. When shopping for make
up, look for light products. Foundations should be mineral or
powdered based, as these do not tend to go on thick and just
blend in your skin tone.
If you need
to conceal blemishes, buy a separate product for this purpose.
Layering on foundation will not cover unsightly spots, only
make them look worse, so be sure to not buy a product to use
for covering up. Blushes, eye make up, and
lipstick should complement your skin and hair colors. If you
get too light or dark of shades, your make up will not
compliment your face to give a natural appearance.
Applying Foundation Correctly For A Natural
Look
Foundation
seems to be the hardest part of putting on cosmetics. The
movies make it look so simple, as everyone looks flawless.
There is an art to applying make up for a natural look that
does not look made up. The first step to proper application is
cleansing. Your face must be clean of dead skin, not too oily
or dry, and basically a new slate for the foundation to go on.
Use a gentle cleanser and wash your face well. After you have
dried the area thoroughly, apply a light amount of foundation
to the skin.
Mineral and
powder foundations should be used lightly. If you have any
blemishes that need to be concealed, apply a concealer to the
area first. Again, do not over do it. This will allow your skin
to look even and offer you a starting point for your other
products.
Putting On Make Up To Enhance, Not
Hide
When applying
your make up, the colors you choose will be the key to whether
you look made up or simply enhance your beauty. When it comes
to blush and lipstick, earth tones and lighter shades of pink
are the best options for a natural look. These colors allow the
cheekbones and lips to be enhanced without looking too bold. If
you have darker skin, darker pinks are the most natural
options. Apply the blush to the outer rim of the cheekbone
itself. This will shade the area, without it looking colored
in.
When it comes
to lip stick, use a shade that enhances your lips and a layer
of gloss over top, for a suppler look. Tips for applying eye
make up include making sure to not go too dark. Darker colors
should be applied directly on the lid, while moving into the
upper brow space should be lighter. Using colors that are more
neutral will also help you keep a more natural, enhancing look
to your eyes.
