  • The facial massage will not only relax you but stimulate your skin as well as the muscles in your face.
  • Regardless of the type of skin you have, there is a mask that is suitable for you and will be included as part of your facial treatment.
  • The final step in the facial involves applying toners and protective creams to the face.

Once you have completed the facial, you will be given advice for home care of your face. The treatment is performed by a licensed professional who has special training in skin care. Developing the habit of having a facial several times a year is one of the best things you can do for your skin. In between treatments at the spa, you must adhere to the instructions for home treatment in order to maintain the health of your skin.

Maintaining Healthy Skin

In order to maintain healthy skin, you should have a facial every four to six weeks, or at least four times a year. In addition to your trips to the spa, you need to make sure you follow a good home skin care regiment that includes cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and toning. The relaxation provided by the facial will help the skin maintain a healthy glow—one that is free of stress lines and signs of premature aging. Although it is impossible to prevent the skin from aging with skin care alone, it is possible to delay the process if you take the steps necessary to keep your skin looking young.

Paying the Price for Healthy Skin

Depending where you are, the price of a facial can vary with day spas offering the cheapest treatments at around $75. If you go to a hotel or resort area, you will find the treatments will be much higher. Of course, that doesn’t mean you should exclude having a facial from your holiday plans by any means, but you need to be aware you will pay a higher price for the same treatment. You may also find that when you begin having facials, you may need to go for treatment more often in the beginning, especially if you are prone to acne. The price you pay for a facial is well worth keeping your skin looking healthy and young.
