The Best Life Diet

Lifestyle changes are the key to successful
weight loss
Review of the
Best Life diet. The problem many people have, myself included,
is they have difficulty finding a diet program that addresses
all of the many issues that caused weight gain in the first
place.
Certainly you
can lose weight, and you may even keep it off for a short time,
but the key to successful weight loss is making lifestyle
changes as outlined in the Best Life Diet. It’s essential to
not only lose weight but look at eating in a different way.
Many of us see eating as a social event, so when we go out we
think we have to eat in order to be sociable.
I’m not going
to lie to you - I was one of those who thought socializing with
friends included a five course meal with drinks. Many of us
have gotten away from the idea of eating being a means of
nutrition and as a result the obesity rate worldwide is
increasing dramatically.
Both mine and
my husband’s family believe in huge holiday meals and expect
you to eat everything on the table. Needless to say, we had to
stop as it began to take a toll on the bathroom scale! When we
began looking for a diet to get rid of the weight we had
gained, we weren’t sure what we wanted, but we knew we wanted
something that would help us make lifestyle changes.
During an
Internet search one night I came across The Best Life Diet and
decided to try it. The diet includes four separate phases as
follows:
-
Phase One lasts no
more than four weeks and focuses on the gradual
increase of activity and changing the way you
previously ate. Some of the things it recommends is
no food consumption within two hours of bedtime,
consuming three meals and one snack every day,
temporarily avoiding all alcohol, drinking plenty
of water, and taking a complete regiment of
multivitamins, minerals, Omega-3 fatty acids and
calcium.
-
Phase Two lasts at
least four weeks and takes a more aggressive
approach to weight loss through healthy eating and
increasing your physical activity. In this phase
the emphasis is on controlling both physical and
emotional eating, removing the six problem foods,
weighing in weekly, and learning about portion
control.
You can learn
how to control what you eat and to increase your activity level
in order to eat larger portions of your favourite foods. You
will also learn how to separate real hunger from emotional
hunger. The Best Life
Diet is not a fast weight loss program, which makes it
easier to keep the weight off.
It has been
about six months since I reached my goal weight using the Best
Life Diet, and I have kept it off with little effort. I won’t
say I haven’t gained a pound or two here and there, but I have
gone back to Phase One or Phase Two and taken it right back off
again.
