British Heart Foundation Diet

Can the British Heart Foundation Diet help?
You can start you research and look all over for diets that make the promise
of being “highly effective”, like the British Heart Foundation Diet. This diet is widely used in
the UK and many have found success with it.
I felt a bit skeptical about going on such a strict diet. The diet requires
you to take out so much of your needed calorie intake and I was very unsure about doing this.
It was so tempting though because there was a “promise” about how I could
lose 10 pounds in as little as 3 days. Therefore, I decided to risk it and see if it
actually worked. It isn’t recommended to use this diet for a long period of time, due to the low calorie
intake. I started the diet out like it was proposed for me to do. I ate a few crackers
and a piece of cheese and drank a cup of tea, for my breakfast. It was a bit difficult not to get up and get into
the sugary breakfast cereal I had in the cupboard for my kids, but I fought that urge. I kept ice water in front of
me the whole time. I was eating so little and fighting myself the whole time I was on the diet.
The British Heart Foundation Diet was supposed to last for a
short amount of time, and that time ended for me on day 2. I felt too hungry not to just stop the diet.
I started eating more of my “regular” foods, but just watched my portions and
I started a strenuous workout routine. I actually felt healthier doing this instead of cutting pretty much all my
food intake.
The British Heart Foundation Diet just seemed like a very
unhealthy way of going about losing weight. I knew there had to be something better out there and luckily enough I
was able to succeed with my weight loss without starving myself.
Taking in only 700 calories a day was just impossible for me. I didn’t want
to stick with something that left me feeling like my stomach was completely empty at the end of the day.
As of right now, I would never recommend the British
Heart Foundation Diet to anyone I know. Many friends I have have asked me my true opinion of the diet and I
tell each and every one of them that it is not worth starving yourself to lose weight. My failure on the diet was
just because I was left feeling so hungry.
There is no way I could or would ever reconsider using this diet. It just was
not worth the constantly fighting myself not to eat. I would think that anyone who uses this diet take some pretty
strong cautions and know that it is not the safest diet out there and there are alternatives to use if you want to
lose weight.
I have had great success in just building a routine for myself and calorie
counting. It works so much better then restricted myself on what I can or cannot eat.
