Diabetic Diet

Is it possible to go on a Diabetic Diet?
You have the choice of using the Diabetic Diet. This diet is
set out to making your life a lot easier without risking your health. Following a diet low in fat is one of the
ways to start you on the journey to a healthier way of life.
The US Government has recommended following a Diabetic Diet
low in fat when you suffer from diabetes. Drinking lots of water and eating smaller portions, but more often then
you were eating is also highly recommended.
Having a mother that is diabetic I set out my search of finding her the best
diet I could to help her lose some weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. My mother
started out her Diabetic Diet with little hope for helping her control her diabetes. I helped her
out by switching over my food intake as well so that it was a bit easier for her to follow.
I made meals that were low in fat and contained protein, fruits, and
vegetables that we both loved. Keeping natural sugars in the diet was not hard, we both love fruit and we would eat
some kind of fruit as a snack each time we needed to snack.
Normally our snacking occurred in between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and
dinner. We would sometimes have a final snack after dinner and before bed. It was pretty easy to keep my mom going
with the diet since I was going right along with her as support.
My mom had a lot of success maintaining her sugar levels. She also dropped 30
pounds in a course of 5 months. Changing her lifestyle and making better food decisions wasn’t easy, but I was
there the whole time cheering her on.
It made her happy to see I was willing to make such a sacrifice just so that
she could be happy and healthy. I myself also lost some weight on the diet. Since I didn’t have diabetes like my
mom, the diet was simply something that helped me lose weight.
The Diabetic Diet was a great and healthy diet to go
on and seeing my Mom’s reaction to losing weight and figuring out how to maintain her diabetes was just
wonderful.
Witnessing my Mom’s results first hand was very eye opening for me. If you
are struggling to get your diabetes under control, taking that step to fix it is totally worth it.
The Diabetic Diet was so great for my Mom as well as me. I
was so very happy that I was brought to tears many times throughout the time being on the diet, my Mom just
couldn’t believe the dedication I had to her and how much I wanted to help her out.
There is no greater feeling in the world then potentially saving the life of
someone who means so much to you. The diet is so worth every sacrifice you have to make. If you try it you will not
be dissatisfied at all, it is so incredible.
