Diverticulitis Diet

Suffering From Diverticulosis?
Trying a Diverticulitis
Diet may just be an option to treat the condition. The
condition can cause many problems, and is normally caused due
to a weakened colon, often due to either age or problems with
constipation. Normally you will see no symptoms, but some
symptoms are spasms and pain, and pressure and
bloating.
The biggest diet advice
for treating this condition is eating high fiber meals, and
drinking a lot more water or other fluids. Drinking some kind
of fiber supplement is also something you could consider.
Adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet will also help
this condition.
Having to see my father
suffer with diverticulosis was one of the hardest things I have
ever been through. He was always in pain and finally I decided
to take the next step to helping him.
I looked up the
Diverticulitis Diet online
to see what kind of information I could find. Therefore, I
started out talking to my dad and letting him know that he
needed to start eating some more fiber and more vegetables
and fruits and also drink plenty of fluids. He started the
diet without much question, as he wanted to get
better.
I started making him high
fiber things for all three meals each and every day. His
breakfast usually consisted of either some eggs and toast, with
a side of fruit, or something more substantial like a couple
pancakes with fruit over the top. It was easy to not only make
the food for him, but also to eat it myself.
Slowly I started to see
my Dad get better. He was able to get around much better and
didn’t seem to say much about having pain anymore. He was doing
so great on the Diverticulitis
Diet and I was so happy that I was
actually able to help him get better.
He would often say I was
spoiling him because he wasn’t used to someone waiting on him
hand and foot and making sure that he ate the right things. He
would actually go days without eating more then popcorn and
crackers because he wasn’t really interesting in cooking since
my mother passed away.
Anyhow, he is doing so
great and I still make him his meals from time to time. He has
started cooking some things after I taught him how easy it was
to do.
After seeing my Dad
suffer like he had been, I wanted to reach out and recommend
this diet to anyone with an aging parent that seems to suffer
from the pain and difficulties of having
diverticulosis.
The Diverticulitis Diet
worked wonders for my Dad and I am so glad that I found
something like it to help him out.
He no longer suffers from
the pain and is actually a more active person now because of
it. He is able to get around better and is very happy with
being able to do things for himself without always having to
ask someone for help at all times of the day.
He is a much happier and
healthier person and I am just so happy to be able to see him
being active and willing to get out more and be among friends
more.
