Eat Right 4 Your Type Diet

Does your blood type really affect your
metabolism?
When I first
heard about the Eat Right 4 Your Type book, I thought it was
the silliest thing I had ever heard—there was no way your blood
type had any effect on your metabolism. Nonetheless I wanted to
give it the benefit of the doubt and try it.
At that time
I was in the market for losing a few pounds, and I wanted
something that was going to be healthy and encourage me to
continue eating healthy after I reached my goal weight. A few
of my friends had tried this diet with success, so I figured it
couldn’t hurt.
I am a blood
Type O, and according to the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet plan,
lean meats, fish and poultry with restrictions on grains,
legumes, and beans are the best for my metabolism. That didn’t
sound particularly special—that’s the type of diet that I had
been utilizing any time I wanted to lose weight. There didn’t
seem to be anything new in the book that I hadn’t already tried
or heard but since I had already bought the book, I figured I
owed it to myself to try it.
I did find
with the program suggested in the Eat Right 4 Your
Type book, I was not hungry and by following the exercise
regiment, I was able to lose ten pounds in about six weeks. I
was successful with the weight loss, but I’m not sure that I am
convinced eating foods directed toward my blood type is the
reason.
The Eat Right
4 Your Type diet is definitely healthy, and when I showed it to
my doctor, he was impressed with the diet selections. He did
share a giggle with me, however, at the thought of your blood
type having anything to do with your metabolism. It felt it was
just some kind of promotional gimmick to get people to buy the
book.
Since I
reached my goal weight, I have been able to keep it off by
following some suggestions in the Eat
Right 4 Your Type book and incorporating some ideas of my
own. Losing weight is never easy especially when you have a
busy lifestyle that includes a full-time job, husband and
children.
It took a
great deal of conditioning in the beginning for me to be able
to do all of the things I needed to do. I had to learn to cook
more and eat out less, a very difficult choice when you are
trying to juggle family and career.
If you are
committed to losing weight, this Eat Right For Your Type diet
plan will help you achieve that goal as long as you follow the
guidelines. The food choices are healthy, and it is a program
you can follow in order to maintain your goal weight and
continue to eat healthy for the rest of your life.
You may
choose to follow the program according to your blood type, or
you can follow the program that appears to suit your
lifestyle—for me they just happened to be the same. Whatever
choice you make, stay with it, and you will be
successful.
