Fast Food Diet

Is it a gimmick or does it really
work?
Review of the
Fast Food Diet. With my busy schedule it is often difficult to
take the time to prepare home-cooked meals for my family. That
means we rely heavily on fast food items such as hamburgers,
pizza, steak sandwiches, subs, chicken, and more. Needless to
say this type of eating took a toll on my weight as well, and I
found myself quickly packing on pounds.
For someone who
had never weighed over 120 pounds except during pregnancy, I
was horrified when I tipped the scales at a staggering 135
pounds. For some of you that may sound like a small amount but
on me it looked horrid, and I suffered not only loss of my
self-esteem but loss of energy as well.
I come from a
family of avid readers, so while browsing in my favourite book
store one day I came across The Fast Food Diet. After browsing
through it, I decided to purchase it and see if it would help
my weight problem.
I did not jump
in with all fours by any means—in fact I was very sceptical but
needed something. I had no high hopes other to find a way to
cut the calories in fast food items I was choosing. I was
really more curious than anything to find out if I could lose
weight without having to find time to cook at home.
Before anyone
wonders, I am not a lazy person, but I am a manager in an
investment firm and my husband is an accountant, so we don’t
often get home until after 6 p.m. In addition, our two
teenagers are involved in several different activities after
school and on weekends.
We both cook,
so one of us tries to get out of the office early on the days
the kids have their activities, but it doesn’t always work. I
tried using the slow cooker, but that doesn’t work when you are
running late and have to eat while you’re in the car driving
around.
Using the
Fast Food Diet book has been a great help to me because I
have learned how to cut calories on fast food by choosing
grilled chicken instead of hamburgers, eliminating high calorie
mayonnaise and drinks, and staying away from French
fries.
You can eat
salads and save many calories as long as you stay away from
Ranch dressing. Breakfast and lunch were never real problems
for me—I always ate at home and packed my lunch—it was dinner
that caused the problems.
Since picking
up the Fast Food Diet book,
I have learned how to choose foods in fast food restaurants. In
fact, I went online for a calorie guide and use that when
ordering fast food. By walking a mile a day and watching what I
order I have begun to lose some of the weight I
gained.
They tell you
that you can lose a pound a week, but I’ve done a little better
than that since I don’t consume fast food completely. That may
not seem like much, but when you compare it to gaining weight,
it’s a big plus. In addition, slow weight loss is more likely
to be permanent. If you’re a busy mom and wife like I am, you
will definitely find the Fast Food Diet diet a
blessing.
