Fat Smash Diet

Four phases to lose weight and change your
lifestyle
The principle
behind the Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian Smith is the premise of
achieving weight loss by smashing all of the bad habits and
misconceptions you previously had concerning diet.
The program
is 90 days in duration and consists of four phases: detox,
foundation, construction, and the temple. During the 90 days
you develop healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle that
help you lose fat and remain within a healthy weight
range.
The detox
phase of the Fat Smash Diet last for nine days and consists
mainly of raw, steamed or grilled fruits and vegetables to
allow you to absorb nutrients, vitamins and minerals naturally.
You do this by eating four or five small portions every three
hours, drinking plenty of water, and doing thirty minutes of
cardiovascular exercise five days each week.
You can
substitute a 25 minute walk after dinner if you choose. This
phase allows the removal of toxins and impurities from the body
thus laying the groundwork for the other phases.
The
foundation phase of the Fat Smash Diet lasts for three weeks
and in addition to a wider variety of foods, you will increase
your physical activity level by as much as 15%.
You will
maintain the same eating regiment as in Phase 1 including the
consumption of plenty of fruits and vegetables but absolutely
no fried foods. This is the phase during which you will
establish your good eating habits and exercise regiment in
order to develop a healthy lifestyle for the future.
The
construction phase of the Fat Smash Diet includes
additional foods, increased portion sizes, and at least four
meals daily. You can also have one non-fruit dessert daily and
will increase your activity level by as much as 25%. The
remaining 90 days allows you to include many foods you couldn’t
eat previously and an activity level of one hour for five days
of the week.
This phase is
where you establish the balance for your goal weight and work
toward the final stage of your lifestyle changes. You may
return to Phase 1 if you have not reached your goal weight by
the end of the 90 days.
Of all the
diets I had tried, this one provided me with the most success.
Because of the gradual transition to other foods, eliminating
them for a few weeks at a time wasn’t as difficult as on diets
that forbid your favourite foods throughout the entire
diet.
I had been
struggling for years to lose 35 pounds that had crept on my
body over the years, and though I had lost it a couple of
times, it came back again. With the Fat Smash Diet I learned to
eat differently and exercise more in order to keep my body’s
metabolism working at peak performance.
I have
remained within a couple of pounds of my goal weight for almost
a year now, and I have to admit I feel more energetic, feel
better about myself and can participate in more activities with
my family. I love to swim, so during warm weather I usually
swim for an hour or two a day, and in cold weather I attend a
health club that also has an indoor pool, so I can swim all
year.
I would
recommend this diet to anyone who wants a diet that doesn’t
eliminate your favourite foods for the entire dieting
phase.
