Genotype Diet
Can Our Genetics Dictate What We Should Eat?

The first time I heard of the Genotype Diet I thought it made perfect sense that genetics could play a role in what we should eat. Specific genes and physical characteristics can really make a huge difference in how and what we should eat to maintain the proper body mass.
It makes perfect sense and explains why some diets work for some people and not for others. This diet could allow me to customize my diet based on what I needed, not some generic plan.
The first step was to take the book's extensive tests to determine which genotype I fit into. There are a total of six types and which one depends on many factors from fingerprints to family history.
There is the Hunter, the Gatherer, the Teacher, the Explorer, the Warrior, and the Nomad. Each one has it’s own diet recommendations to follow. I had a difficult time with my placement, as it did not match my idea of what I was. It is very hard to not get caught up in each type of genotype’s name and description.
Do not over think it. Just do the tests and keep it truthful. The one thing I did find was that each description was actually very true. Once you get your type of genotype you can then get your customized diet plan to Genotype Diet.
What I did like about the Genotype Diet was that I was able to get recipes for my particular genotype. I was not stuck trying to figure out what to eat and running out of ideas. I was also able to get exercise tips and plans for my genotype as well.
Each one has a very specific need for exercise. Some are very mild and others are very strenuous. Following the exercise regime is just as important as eating the diet correctly. One of the most important aspects of the diet is to follow it right.
Another great feature to the book is the online support. For an extra charge you can join the online diet community to get extras. This allows you more recipe ideas, support, diet calculator, and access to the experts. This extra expense is totally worth it if you plan to stick to the diet.
I really loved the Genotype Diet and would recommend it to anyone serious about losing weight. The only issues that can come up is that if you spend the money on the online help and do not follow through with the plan you lose five weeks worth of money that is non-refundable. I found this a great incentive to keep up with the program.
Many people just buy the book, but all the great stuff is online. I would recommend the online program to anyone who has more than one member in the home doing this diet. It can really help you coordinate what to cook for different genotypes living together.
I really found this diet to work and be very helpful, I am sure you will too.
