The Glycemic Impact Diet is the diet that is supposed to make you healthy. I had some health issues that were contributing to my weight, so when I found out abut the Glycemic Impact Diet, it seemed the perfect solution. Instead of focusing on only one area, this program looks at the big picture in order to achieve the right balance of nutrition. The food consists of those with low Glycemic impact such as unrefined complex carbohydrates combined with lean proteins and healthy snacks. The meal plan calls for you to limit the number of simple sugars you consume and increase fibre intake to prevent hunger and achieve a stable blood sugar level. Your energy level will remain high on this program in spite of reduced calories. When I first came across the Glycemic Impact Diet program, my weight was out of control, and I was afraid of developing diabetes. Other diets I had tried made me tried because the carbohydrates were very limited, so I was looking for something that would allow me to eat enough carbohydrates for me to maintain my energy level while still allowing me to lose weight. I researched the Glycemic Impact Diet in great detail before I began because I had tried too many diets that I later found to have too few calories or carbohydrates for me to maintain my energy level. I have three children under 10, so I have to be able to move around quickly, something difficult enough with my weight problem. When I first began the Glycemic Impact diet, I found that I was rather hungry throughout the day, but that is no reflection on the diet - I had to accustom my body to eating less food. I think this is one of the most difficult things that dieters have to do, and many give up before their bodies become accustomed to eating less. It took me a few days until my body began to accept that I wasn't going to be eating as much food. Once I was over that hurdle, the diet was easy to follow. The Glycemic Impact Diet program is not quick weight loss by any means - the average loss is ten pounds in five weeks - but it is a safe diet that allows you to change your lifestyle and thus keep the weight off. My loss is not typical because I started with 75 pounds to lose, and each person is going to lose at a different pace depending on their own lifestyle. You can lose whatever weight you need to lose with this diet program and eat your way to a healthier body. It took me about nine months to lose all the weight I wanted to lose, but it was worth the challenge. Trust that you found this Glycemic Impact Diet article useful.
