Dealing With The Form Of Arthritis That Is Called Gout?

Maybe you would be interested in the Gout Diet; it is a diet that helps you manage your gout. There are foods that you are advised to avoid that contain high levels of purine. Then there are some foods that have a medium level of purine, and a low level of purine that can be eaten.
The lower the purine content, the better for the diet. Following this diet is key to helping you with your gout. When you are on this diet you will probably also be able to lose some weight. This is a great factor with someone with gout.
Typically people that are overweight have a greater chance of suffering with gout then someone of an average weight. Getting healthier is never a bad thing.
Knowing that I was creating my own misery and keeping myself from being healthy I decided to try out the Gout Diet. It was a little harder to completely knock out all the high purine foods, but I put in all the effort I could to do so. Being a heavy girl, I knew that I needed to do something to relieve my pain and suffering with gout.
I decided to try out some tofu, because it was a suggested food to use to help me with my gout. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but I only used it once a day, too much just wasn’t a good thing for me. I also decided to add a lot more dark berries to my diet, I already loved cherries so adding them was no big deal and I was actually very happy to do so.
I know that going a natural way to try to get rid of the pain was very important to me. I didn’t want to live off of painkillers and sleeping pills to get me through the rest of my life.
So finding the Gout Diet has made a big difference. I was happy to find something that actually helped and I could do it alone without constantly going to the Doctor to fill a prescription. It really made me feel better about my ability to heal myself. Being on the diet also helped me shed some weight.
I am by no means a skinny woman now, but I am thinner and feel better and I am no longer suffering from gout like I had been. It is such a relief to not deal with pain everyday all day.
I have had a couple of acquaintances ask me questions about how I was able to get my gout under control and I always tell them that I used the Gout Diet.
Some of them have laughed at me like I was nuts when I explained the diet to them, but others have really looked into doing the diet for themselves. I would offer all the help and advice I can to anyone dealing with the pain and suffering that comes along with having gout.
It is not an easy form of arthritis to deal with and my struggle with it really proved to me how much healthier I needed to make myself.
