The Greenlane Diet has been buzzing around for quite sometime in the UK. Many also know it as the British Heart Foundation Diet, although they have nothing to do with this plan at all. While it has been quite a popular diet in the UK for a quick fix for losing weight fast, it is not finding itself abroad with the Internet. I had to find out more about this specific diet as I could really stand to lose 10 pounds fast. Three days sounded great to me. Looking at the diet plan in full, I was not so sure if this would be for me or not. I am really not into those crash diet plans that starve your body to lose weight. Most of these only lead to more weight gain in the long run, if they even work as they claim at all. With the Greenlane Diet you are eating extremely low calories per day for 3 days. You should not go beyond the three days or you will backfire the diet. If you deprive yourself the amount of food you need more than that time, you lower your metabolism and just end up putting on more weight. The only foods you are able to consume are dry toast, fruit, crackers, and tuna. This diet is very low calorie, only 700 calories to be exact. Most of the weight you initially lose is fluid retention. This is not a diet one would stay on long term and should never be tried without talking to your doctor first. Another version of the Greenlane Diet that has become popular is the four-week version. This diet plan is the same as the original that you only eat 700 calories per day for 3 days. Then on days four through seven you eat normal, without over eating. You do this for only 4 weeks and you should have lost a significant amount of weight. I found that starving the body for any length of time could be really bad. In addition, no one can guarantee you will lose anything from starvation, or any diet for that matter. It is always better to work out a diet plan that is more of a life style change that will help you lose weight and keep it off, than to use a yo-yo or crash diet to drop weight fast and possibly put it right back on just as quick. The Greenlane Diet is definitely one of those program fads I would not recommend. You never know what can happen when you deprive yourself of food. Some people who have medical conditions could really find this plan would backfire for them. It is never a good idea to starve the weight off. If you want to lose weight and keep it off for good, try another diet. This diet can just make you gain more weight back on later and there is no promise that you will lose the 10 pounds right away.
