The Liver Cleansing Diet has a great theory on how to lose weight. If you are over weight and your metabolism is slow, you could be having issues with your liver. The liver is where we detox what is brought into the stomach from eating. It also breaks down most of the nutrients that we intake each time we eat.

In fact, you cannot survive without your liver and all its helpful enzymes. It is no wonder that if it is backed up or need a bit of cleansing, why we would be gaining weight. When you improve your liver function you will be able to lose weight much easier.

There are a million reasons and symptoms that could mean you need to try the Liver Cleansing Diet. According to the author, you can just assume if you do this every 3-6 months you will have a very well functioning liver.

I figured it could not hurt to give the Liver Cleansing Diet a try. It was a very strict diet that needed to be followed religiously, but it is very fast and not anything long term. I got the book, bought the food and supplements, and detoxified away.

The first few days I dined on water, juice, and raw vegetables. This was to allow my liver to focus on toxins only and not the digestion process. Then I began to add more foods back into my diet. All the new foods were high in fiber, low fat, and no sugar. It was similar to a mini fasting.

Basically I lived as a vegetarian for a while. It was not easy, but I can say I felt better. The program lasts all of eight weeks and was well worth it.

Once you have finished the Live Cleansing Diet you will have wanted to come out of it with more than losing weight and a fresh liver. I had to learn to eat right and much to my surprise, about nutrients and what they do for us on a microscopic level.

This way not only would I prevent myself from needing this diet too often, which would only indicate I was not eating right; it would keep the weight off for good. I did not choose to stay a vegetarian, but I only allowed myself to eat lean meats. I only ate sugary foods, fried foods, and fat in limiting amounts.

Over all I can honestly say that the Liver Cleansing diet was a success. It worked very well for me. I lost weight, learned to eat healthier, and kept my weight off long term. I would recommend the liver cleansing diet for anyone looking to jump-start a new life style and diet change.

It works great at ridding your body of old bad habits and the accumulation of yuck. Then you can work on living a much healthier life with a better diet that will keep your liver working at its best.

While this diet is not something you should be doing all the time, it can really help you begin your journey to better living.
