Low Fat Diets

Do Low Fat Diets work?
Losing fat sounds easy enough with all the low fat diets available out there
today. This is not always the case. Losing weight can be really hard, as I learned just recently.
I figured that it made sense that the few fatty foods I ate, the less fat I
would store. The less fat stored, the more I would use daily and lose weight. This was not exactly the
case.
While cutting down in fat did really help my over weight issue to some
extent, and also made me healthier, it did not make it easier to lose the fat I had already. It really does take
more than just fixing one part of a problem. Getting rid of the bad fats in my diet had extremely wonderful
benefits health wise, but it did nothing really for me in the way of losing pounds. Even
with low fat diets you must watch what you eat in other areas. High fat content foods are not the only way to gain
weight. There are plenty of other food types that help with an expanding waistline, as I learned the hard
way.
I also had to cut down on how much I ate as well. Large portions were
stretching my stomach out so I was no longer satisfied with a normal meal. I was still hungry with a normal
portion. I really had to retrain my body to eat right on so many levels. With an over expanded stomach, I think I
ate high fat foods to “fill up” better.
What I did not know was that I would digest these things fast and be hungry
too soon after my last meal. I would eat more and end up adding way too much fat to my body.
I found that low fat diets work well if you also add some exercise to your
plan. Health wise, this is the best idea. I figure I spent so much time putting fat into my arteries, now I had to
put time into moving it out. Weekly exercise, even if it is not much, is the best way to help fix your health and
lose weight at the same time. Diet alone is never really enough.
In addition, I found you could not cheat if you do not burn off the extra
calories or fat. I am not really one to like to work out, nor do I really have any time I want to give up for it. I
decided walking would be the best thing for me. I could easily walk the dog, or stroll around after work. It was
better than nothing and easy enough to do each day. I also used ankle weights to help out.
Over all, low fat diets are great. I recommend them to everyone. Not only can
it aid in losing weight, it really is best for your health. These diets are simple to follow and do not really
change your diet as far as what type of foods you can eat; rather it changes how you prepare them. Lean meats, no
fried or battered foods, but you can eat the same things cooked in a different way.
