Macrobiotic Diet

Getting Healthy, Mind, Body, And Soul With An
All Organic Vegetarian Diet
I stumbled upon the
Macrobiotic Diet when I decided I needed a change. I was
feeling very heavy lately and the foods I was eating were just
not sitting well with me any longer.
I decided to try this
diet out as it claimed to be able to bring the body back to a
healthier place physically, spiritually, and mentally. At first
I was not too sure if I could actually give up all animal
products and refined sugars.
I decided that since I
had not felt good, it could not make me feel any worse. To my
surprise I actually began to feel lighter and more well
balanced after about a week on the diet.
The idea behind the
Macrobiotic diet is to get back to nature through food. By only
eating natural, unprocessed foods you cleanse the body of all
the garbage it has been working too hard to process.
This cleansing allows the
body to become healthy and efficient, and therefore you begin
to lose weight and generally feel better over all. If you are
looking for a diet that will allow you to lose weight fast,
this is not it. This program is for those looking for an over
all lifestyle change.
While you might lose
weight from eating healthy in general, you will not see large
amounts of fat loss from just this diet alone. The only way to
use this diet as a weight loss program is to calorie count and
make sure your intake is low compared to your daily
activity.
Although the Macrobiotic Diet is a great diet for
general living, if you want to lose weight this is not the diet
for you. You would want to try a weight loss diet prior to
using this one and us this one as a maintenance program after
you have lost all the weight you desired.
While I love the way this
diet makes me feel, it has not produced the desired weight loss
I originally was looking for. In order for me to really lose
any weight and eat the suggested foods, I had to lower the
amount of food I ate and add in an exercise regime.
So, if you are looking to
lose weight without adding in any extra activity, you may want
to consider passing on this diet program.
Over all, the Macrobiotic
Diet is a fabulous healthy lifestyle change. As a diet to lose
any significant amount of weight, I would not recommend
it.
While you will feel
better health wise in so many ways from this regime, most
people do not begin a new diet for just that purpose. To lose
weight you will need to find something else.
To maintain a healthy
weight post dieting, then you might find it useful. I can say
that I do feel lighter and more active since I started the
regime. I have not noticed any significant loss of fat or
inches though.
