Losing The Weight The Special K Way

The Special K Diet is another diet that is using one product to guarantee weight loss. While it is possible to lose weight on this diet, whether it is the cereal or reduction of calories is the biggest question.

The object is to eat replace 2 meals with a bowel of the cereal and a half-cup of low fat milk. This is pretty easy.

The other meal you eat as normal. You can have up to three healthy snacks per day. The company also makes snack bars to use as snacks if you like.

The Special K Diet basically cuts the dieter's calories down to about 1500-1600 per day. The claim is that you do this for two weeks and you will lose about six pounds of fat. Studies have shown that you can lose up to six pounds of actual fat doing this diet, keeping it off is a whole other issue.

I decided that I could stand to lose the six pounds and fit in my clothes better. I ate a bowel of the Special K Diet cereal eat day for breakfast and dinner. I chose these meals for a specific reason.

Breakfast was obvious. I always eat cereal in the morning for breakfast. I also ate the cereal for dinner at night. I decided that dinner would be best for my lifestyle. I was not as active as many people and worked long hours.

When I came home I would not be exercising so a large dinner would just sit and pack on the pounds. This was probably how I gained the extra weight in the first place. I decided a low calorie and easily used dinner would help me in my weight loss journey.

Lunch was my new favorite meal. I was eating a large and well-balanced lunch as if it was dinner. This is where I had my high protein and carbs. The reason is that I would have the entire day to burn off the extra calories I did not use in sustaining my body for normal at rest processes. It worked out very well too. I just had to prepare my meals ahead of time to make sure I had them to take to work each day.

While eating my Special K Diet at night, I would cook my lunch for the next day and pack it up. My snacks were the special cereal bars. I found them easier to deal with and pack. They came in prepackaged perfect amounts. This would make it easy for me to know what to eat as far as calories each day without having to actually count them.

At the end of my two weeks of the Special K Diet I had lost 9 pounds. I was very happy with the results and fitting much better into my clothes. In fact, I had to go down a size.

The only issue I had with diet over all was that once you are done and you go back to your normal diet, you can regain the weight. I did not learn to eat better, just how to lose some quick pounds occasionally.
