Suzanne Somers Diet Review

Does the Right Combination of Foods
Work?
Decided to send
in my Suzanne Somers diet review. Hope that it meets your
requirements. Everyone has probably heard of Suzanne Somers,
and we’ve seen the pictures of how great she looks. When I
heard she had come out with a diet program, I thought I would
try it. I figured if it worked for her, it will work for
me.
I didn’t have
much weight to lose—about fifteen pounds—but I was having
trouble taking it off. I wasn’t sure about eliminating foods
from my diet because those I had tried with the premise didn’t
work for me because I became hungry or bored.
I was desperate
by this time, and a friend had suggested this one. She said it
helped her take off ten pounds in less than a month, so I
figured what the heck?
The Suzanne
Somers diet has two main phases, the diet phase and the
maintenance phase. During the diet phase, you are allowed very
few carbohydrates are permitted. You are also not permitted
yogurt or whole milk.
The maintenance
phase allows you to slow return a few carbohydrates to your
diet. You have to be careful of the foods you eat because some
need to be eaten alone while others must be consumed with
something else. I didn’t see the justification for it, but
that’s what the diet program said, so I followed it. The lack
of carbohydrates seemed to be rather unhealthy, but since I
only had fifteen pounds to lose, I figured I could handle
it.
I found the
Suzanne Somers diet program
very difficult to follow because of the restrictions. The
advertisements saying you wouldn’t be hungry were true, but I
was exhausted all the time because of the carbohydrate
restrictions.
Because I was so
tired, I was unable to exercise in order to help burn the fat
and lose the weight as I should have been able to do. I have to
admit it was a good thing I was single because I barely made it
through work. I reached the point that my supervisor was
complaining how long it took me to complete my work, so I had
to give it up or lose my job. Anyone who knows me can tell you
I was very energetic before I started this diet
program.
I can’t speak
for others, only for myself, and for me it didn’t work. I
couldn’t keep up the pace and I became bored with the meal
plans. Maybe my girlfriend is stronger than I am, but I just
couldn’t exist on so few carbohydrates. I even tried working in
the maintenance phase with more carbohydrates, but I was too
run down to be able to handle it.
I think during
the time I was on the Suzanne Somers diet program I lost
about five pounds, and after I gave up, it took me about a week
to regain my energy. I’ve since consulted a nutrition book, and
I’m losing a little at a time.
I would like to
say the diet is a good one, but I see it as being unhealthy and
boring. My doctor says there is no concrete evidence to support
the theory that eating certain foods together helps with weight
loss.
