The Zone Diet Review

The Special Ingredient that Makes It
Work
Here is my Zone
Diet review. With so many different diet programs from which to
choose, when I came across The Zone Diet, I had to find out
what made it different and why I would want to choose this
program above the others.
Like most women,
I have tried many different diets without success, so I was
rather sceptical about the success rate of yet another diet
program.
The key to the
Zone Diet is a balance of hormones that occurs as you eat each
meal. The program includes a balanced ratio of
carbohydrates, fat, and proteins that allow you to eat foods
that have the ability to control the insulin production in your
body.
In addition to
weight loss, Zone is an excellent diet for those who wish to
avoid heart disease, diabetes, and other types of conditions
that are the result of poor eating habits.
Unlike other
diets I had tried, the Zone Diet consisted of a
low-carbohydrate plan without excessive amounts of proteins
like many other plans. You also need to keep meals at about 500
calories and snacks 100 calories or less. You are allowed
plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts, leafy green
vegetables, and sufficient protein, but you need to use
mono-unsaturated fats, avoid processed foods, and limit your
salt intake.
This combination
is supposed to keep insulin and glucagon in balance so that you
can lose both fat and weight. I wasn’t sure it made sense to me
how it could work, but I had tried so many diets that didn’t
work, it wasn’t going to hurt to try another one. I was still
trying to lose the last 20 pounds after the birth of my
youngest child three years prior when I began the Zone Diet, so
I was desperate by that time.
Even though I
wasn’t sure about the ability of the program to work, I
followed all of the directions and did exactly what I was
supposed to do. I won’t say that I never cheated, but I limited
the amount of times I swayed from the foods on the Zone diet.
I also added an
exercise plan to my program and discovered that I was able to
lose 12 pounds within the first month. Needless to say, I was
ecstatic, and my husband encouraged me to continue. He had
never complained about the extra weight, but he knew I wasn’t
happy with myself and needed to get rid of the extra “baby
weight.”
It took an
additional three weeks to drop the remaining eight pounds, and
I could finally fit into the clothes I had worn before I became
pregnant with my three year old. I felt good, I looked good,
and I was pleased with my accomplishment.
It has now been
one year, and I’ve kept the weight off. I won’t say none has
crept back on, but when it does, I go right back on the Zone
Diet and take it off.
For anyone
looking for a program that will really work, the Zone Diet is
it. You have both weight loss and healthy eating, which are
perfect combinations.
